WRO on Tour #18

The 6. Dzielnica club & gallery / Łódź (Poland)
screening: Apr 26, 2018 / 6 PM

The “Through the landscape” program offers a journey not as much through the real landscapes, but rather the imagined ones. The existing ones and the suspicious ones. Unquestionably seductive, but sometimes confusing the viewer, being unobvious. Each work allows to see the invisible and the overlooked, each work uncovers the fascinating shapes of scraps and concisely shapes statements that are difficult to put into words.

The landscape is scientifically defined, among others, as “a complex system consisting of landforms, rocks, water, soil, vegetation and atmosphere” or “a heterogeneous area comprising interacting ecosystems”. In the program, one can find echoes of the first definition, the other one can be understood more metaphorically. “Through the landscape” presents various views, shifts and systemic relations – it is a selection of video works that shaped a fragment of the 2017 DRAFT SYSTEMS WRO Biennale’s program landscape.
